Emma Nesper

Born on January 17, 1982, in Evanston, Illinois, Emma Nesper is the youngest of three children, with two older brothers, Olen and Erik. She graduated from Evanston Township High School in 2000 and later enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Mass Communication, and Cultural Anthropology in 2004. She continued her academic journey at UCLA, where she got a Master of Arts in African Studies in 2008.

A Passion for Human Rights and Philanthropy

Emma’s extensive career in global justice philanthropy shows her commitment to social justice. For more than fifteen years, she’s worked with international non-profit organizations to promote human rights, improving health outcomes for marginalized communities, and encouraging equitable development in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Professional Endeavors in Non-Profit Organizations

Emma has served in various capacities in non-profit organizations. She was a communications specialist with Venture Strategies Innovations (VSI) in 2008, eventually becoming the communications director. She joined the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) in 2013 as director of development, a role she held until 2018. Emma also served as the Senior Director of Development and Partnerships at CARE, a global organization dedicated to fighting poverty and injustice, from October 2018 to June 2022.

Meeting Anders Holm: A High School Romance

Emma’s personal life is intertwined with her high school sweetheart, Anders Holm. The couple met at summer school when they were just 12 years old and reconnected when they were teens at Evanston Township High School. Their relationship grew over time, leading them to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison together. They dated for several years before getting married in September 2011, marking the beginning of a partnership that has spanned over two decades.

Family Life and Parenthood

Emma and Anders welcomed their first child (a son) in December 2013. The couple has since expanded their family, though they maintain a private life, keeping details about their children out of the public eye. Despite their demanding careers, Anders and Emma prioritize their family, often balancing work demands with quality family time.

Balancing Career and Personal Life

Emma’s ability to balance her demanding career in philanthropy with being a mother and wife is quite commendable. Her commitment to global justice initiatives complements Anders’ career in the entertainment world, creating a dynamic partnership rooted in mutual respect and support. Their relationship serves as a model for couples navigating the complexities of professional and personal life.

Supporting Each Other’s Endeavors

Emma and Anders have supported each other’s careers throughout their relationship. Anders often talks about Emma’s intelligence and how she has shaped his life. In a similar vein, Emma has been a steadfast supporter of Anders’ endeavors in the entertainment industry, attending events and celebrating his achievements alongside her own professional successes.
